HOMENAGE TO GREAT EDUCATORS
In 2011, EDUCAR/ EDUCADOR paid homage to 21 educators – including teachers, scientists, writers and sociologists – who have influenced and continue to influence Brazilian education. Some are consecrated theoreticians, like Jean Piaget, Lourenço Filho and Florestan Fernandes; others are speakers who share their ideas throughout the country, reaching teachers at the grassroots. Some of them received a special homage at the event, because of what they represent to the history of Futuro Eventos and to teachers. They include Celso Antunes, Vasco Moretto, Danilo Gandin, Egidio Romanelli and Thereza Penna Firme.
“These days, all professionals must stay up to date. Everyone: doctors, engineers and especially teachers. I am very pleased with the event. My speech had a large audience, even though there were others at the same time. I feel right at home here.”
Celso Antunes
“This was one of the most beautiful homages that I have received. The fair dazzles your eye and touches your heart. I am even more enchanted by the congress. When I was called to do the talk show, I wasn’t really sure what to do. You say what you are thinking, the questions are complex, with only 3 minutes to respond – and some I would need 3 days to answer. What was enchanting is that you are steered to the issue and don’t control it.”
Danilo Gandin
“At the exhibiters’ stands and the speeches, many of those who are here were my students. This edition has an excellent dynamic and is reviving everything that EDUCAR/EDUCADOR had been. The Grupo Futuro Eventos, Marcos and Luciana, deserve congratulations.”
Egidio Romanelli
“I am enjoying it, I have participated for many years and always appreciated the fair and the speakers very much. It is highly productive for Brazilian education: teachers come here, discuss various issues, reinforce their values and take them back to their schools.”
Vasco Moretto
A tribute was also made to Thereza Penna Firme, one of the most respected Brazilian speakers, who for decades has inspired teachers to confront one of the most complex factors of education – evaluation.
